Naamio

Naamio is a poetic puzzle for patient hands. Maintaining a fake metaphoric image of yourself is just as difficult as discovering who you truly are.

During  the workshop “Let’s Get Personal” by Sabine Harrer assisted by me, at the wonderful Lyst Summit in Helsinki, my team mates Kjell and Linda started out visualising a metaphor of going through different phases of processing an uncomfortable truth about yourself, by making these beautiful paper masks.

I took these photographs and turned them into these paper style puzzle pieces that can be freely placed on the screen until they snap into their correct position. After some time, properly placed pieces will start falling down, putting more pressure on the player to keep up the facade. When you finally achieve perfection, you discover a new truth about the world and yourself.
